Google Maps humorous directions from NY to Paris

I was worried to post this at first, thought that maybe someone had seeded this, but I looked around and didn't find it. I would also seed instead of create an article but, I had trouble directly linking it to the directions.

Enjoy.

What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

This is one of the many reasons why I love Google. The people that work there have a great sense of humor.

I guess I always thought that was somehow automatic. To think that someone has typed all that stuff in there! I want that job.

I have the Google homepage and Google talk and Gmail, and I can't decide which one I love the most. I am definitely a Google fan. I was watching a Youtube clip on why Google had been named the best place to work in America by Forbes (if I remember correctly) and those people have it made. The sheer quantity of on the job perks was mind blowing. Game rooms and gourmet food and doctors and massages and barbers and swimming pools. I sent in my application.

And if you reverse the directions, you get from Paris to New York in kilometers! Very nice.

I originally saw this with some destination in England, but you ended up going to France first and then using the Chunnel to get to England.

I suspect in their algorithmic weighted graph, that pier in NYC and the other pier in France are linked, so any trans Atlantic trip will use it (eg Los Angeles to Moscow).
